Overview

Broadway Support Services is currently seeking a meticulous, curious, and experienced Senior Data Quality Analyst at National Debt Relief to join our dynamic data team. You'll report directly to the Sr. Product Manager for Data Platforms and be at the forefront of our data lifecycle, working with data in its pre-curated state from various source systems like Salesforce and other business applications. Your primary responsibility will be to explore, analyze, and validate data from these systems, using your SQL skills to understand each data point and ensure all necessary information is accurately synced for downstream processes. You'll meticulously document data elements, define their business context, and play a key part in our data governance efforts by identifying data quality issues and creating clear, well-organized tickets for data curation. This role demands excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of data quality principles, strong data exploration capabilities across different systems, and strong English communication skills for effective collaboration with a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Proactively explore and analyze data structures, objects, fields, and relationships within various source systems (e.g., Salesforce, other business applications) using SQL to understand the raw data landscape and decipher data points.
• Perform data profiling on source data to identify data types, patterns, and potential anomalies before curation.
• Validate that all required data elements from source systems are accurately and completely synced to our staging or warehouse environments.
• Develop clear, concise, and accurate descriptions and business definitions for fields and elements from various source systems, reflecting their use based on your data exploration.
• Maintain and contribute to a central data dictionary/catalog, specifically detailing source data lineage and pre-curation characteristics.
• Identify, investigate, and document data quality issues, inconsistencies, and discrepancies found within source data and its synced counterparts.
• Create detailed, well-organized curation tickets for the data warehouse engineering team, outlining necessary data cleansing, transformation, validation, or enrichment tasks based on findings from pre-curated source data.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, source system administrators, and Business Stakeholders to understand data requirements and quality expectations for data from various sources.
• Clearly communicate complex data quality findings, definitions, and recommendations related to source system data to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in SQL is essential for data querying, in-depth exploration, profiling, and analysis across different database systems.
• Experience navigating and understanding data structures of complex business applications (e.g., CRMs like Salesforce, ERPs, proprietary systems) is important.
• Experience with data profiling tools and techniques, particularly as applied to raw or uncurated data from diverse sources.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (e.g., ETL/ELT, data modeling) and how source data feeds into them.
• Experience with data catalog, metadata management, or data governance tools is highly desirable.
• Understanding of data quality dimensions (e.g., accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity, uniqueness).
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar task management tools for ticket creation and tracking is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy, especially at the source.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an innate curiosity to explore data from various systems, uncover its meaning, and figure out what it represents.
• Methodical and organized approach to data exploration, validation, documentation, and ticket creation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory for this role to effectively collaborate with a distributed team and stakeholders.
• Ability to articulate complex data concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
